The years 2020 and 2021 were strange for all of us. Nevertheless, we continued to be keen to keep contact with and run events for our community.
In addition to our Events – IMAPS Europe we set up an additional platform, the IMAPS Europe Events Campus . We strive to keep the Events Calendar up to date with events relevant to the community that are accessible to you. In-house events are listed in the Campus with links to the specific events. We started with the IMAPS-Italy online conference Additive Technologies for Microelectronics – IMAPS Europe.
Then we launched our Distinguished Speaker Webinars New series of “Distinguished Speaker Webinars” – IMAPS Europe commencing with Prof. Marc Desmulliez’ “A framework for BIST for MEMS: Application to MEMS microphones”. We are delighted that many attended and benefited from the webinar in October by Distinguished Speaker Prof. Gabor Harsanyi, and to receive positive comments such as this:
“I enjoyed very much watching and listening to Prof. Harsanyi’s special presentation on Remote Teaching. In particular, the many didactically valuable animations of technological processes and measuring principles are amazing! Thank you for giving me the chance to participate in this way! Also, the IMAPS-Europe flagship event, the 23rd European Microelectronics and Packaging Conference® (EMPC®2021), originally planned in Gothenburg, Sweden, but inevitably moved online, was held 13 – 16 September 2021. The conference was managed by IMAPS-Nordic with the support of IMAPS-Europe board colleagues. EMPC®2021 delivered 72 technical papers, in sessions headlined by 6 Keynote speakers. Because the event also celebrated 50 years of IMAPS-Nordic, there was a special talk by Paul Collander, a long-term leader in the chapter. The recordings of EMPC®2021 are now accessible online for registered attendees of the conference.
Chapters are also re-establishing face-to-face events:
- IMAPS-Slovenia MIDEM 2021 (56th edition) was held in Ljubljana 22 -24 September 2021 and published in the quarterly journal ‘Informacije’.
- IMAPS-Germany Autumn Conference 2021 21 – 22 October 2021 will be held at the Munich University of Applied Sciences and is an important platform for professional discussions between industry and universities as well as production and research.
- IMAPS-France will host Power-2021 on 25 November 2021 in TOURS POWER 2021 – IMAPS France and MinaPAD-2022 during 10 – 11 March in Grenoble MiNaPAD 2022 – IMAPS France
- IMAPS-Nordic will host NordPAC-2022 in Gothenburg in June 2022, IMAPS NORDIC – International Microelectronics and Packaging Society (imapseurope.org)
